#30 (EN): 10x, Sibros, Four Gallons of Frunk
Have a beautiful Sunday! The week started slowly in the Sonoversum but then picked up speed:
+++ 10x VALUE +++
1,588 small investors hold shares in Sono via the Seedrs trading platform. In 2017 you could buy shares - for just 1.91 € each at the time.
The value increased tenfold last Friday compared to 2017 because the valuation for which the Swedbank Robur fund joined at the end of 2020 is now reflected in the valuation. The new rate: € 22.01 per share! Those who invested € 3,000 in 2017 are now well over € 30,000 and have their Sion financed just by helping the company in the beginning.
Many will not have believed their eyes as the new figures in the portfolio showed up. No trading is currently possible, so the value only exists on paper. But one thing seems certain - this is the price institutional investors have been willing to pay in 2020 already.

+++ SIBROS +++
The Sion gets "Over The Air" updates and an innovative platform for the connected vehicle and remote maintenance. Sono chose "Sibros Deep Connected Platform". The echo in the press was great: a startup from California for IT, engineering from Germany from a sustainable automobile startup. That resonated.
I received some emails from reservations holders who saw this a little more critical - is all of our mobility data moving to the US? I understand your concerns. At the moment, I can only say that I know some of the IT folks at Sono, some from past projects - they take data security and data privacy serious. I have complete confidence. Of course, we will have to look at it in detail.

+++ STUTTGART +++
Our "Community Crew" member Markus was on the test drive site in Stuttgart - and took the chance to ask some questions. Thanks, Markus! The key takeaways:
Interesting: some built-in carry-over parts in the Sion can do more than is unlocked at the factory. This can be activated later via the Sibros integration when it becomes law (or if the user buys it later?). Example: distance cruise control.
The moss can be exchanged by the user himself. But how you can do that is unclear.
230V Power plug socket in the interior: definitely no

+++ LATEST NEWS FROM THE DEVELOPMENT +++
Every second Friday, there is a new status of development. Always lagging a bit behind and full of abbreviations, but transparent to the max. The highlights:
Thermal system: SVC3's cooling system packs 75kW charging power. At least in the simulation ("1D Simulation Results"). The practical test is then Hilpoltstein in the blazing sun in front of the wall of the game library.
"Frunk volume 15L" (that’s four gallons for you guys in the US): Frunk is the front trunk - intended for the charging cables. For a while, it was on the brink of whether it would make it to the final version of the car. Apparently, the decision has been made. Fifteen liters is not huge; the usual two charging cables should fit in. 15 liters is exactly one MOËT Nebuchadnezzar bottle of champagne, for comparison.
"Several questions of make or buy at NEVS." Apparently, series production is being discussed here.
Android Automotive 11 Open Source (AOSP) in infotainment. AOSP is the source-open variant of Android Automotive - nothing is transferred to Google. Only when you have installed the Google Apps, they will start calling home.

+++ LIGHTYEAR +++
Sono tries to approach the market from the bottom with an e-car for everyone; Lightyear tries from the top with a premium product. A contract manufacturer has now been found in Valmet.

+++ RACHEL CARSON +++
The Rachel Carson Institute regularly produces content on the environment. On Friday, a video was put online from June 2021, which is about the Sion. If you want to hear the Sion story and the features in English again, you can listen to a current lecture by Jona here.

+++ NAVINA @ SZ +++
We haven't heard from Navina for a long time. On Friday she was at the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” in the skyscraper, at the “SZ Summit: Thinking Economy Sustainably”. The pictures show Joe Kaeser (Siemens), the King of Burladingen (Wolfgang Grupp / Trigema), Markus Söder (CSU), Volkmar Denner (Bosch), Katrin Göring-Eckart, Luisa Neubauer (FFF) and Navina von Sono Motors. Texts and videos are not online yet, but will come for sure.

+++ FUN FACT +++
Tesla has received 84 million € (100 million USD) in advance payments for the Cybertruck, Sono raked in 40 million euros with reservations. Sono generated around half as much cash for the Sion as Tesla did with the Cybertruck (fun fact).
The comparison lags a bit because the Cybertruck reservation is available for € 100 and is therefore much more diversified. The average reservation holder at Sono has put € 3,000 on the table. Quantity there, quality here. Because the comparison is weak, it is only enough for the fun fact.
And we can all still remember 2018 with the first 5,000 reservations - which are guaranteed to get the Sion in 2019 :-) I still have the little wooden Sion.
