Questions to Sono (#5)

We had the first round of questions by video in February, and the result is very popular - over 32,000 views on YouTube alone.

The start of the official test drives for everyone is still unclear because of Covid . But there is a chance for a second “session” before everyone can gets to see the prototype in person.

I get new questions every day, which I am happy to collect for you. So if you want to know something, feel free do to write me your questions in the comments and I will add them to the list and have them answered.

Organizational

• Earliest delivery date: first half of 2023, for everyone who has reserved until today?

• Why the limit of 280,000 units?

• Will there also be delivery centers outside of Germany?

• Can you still get your Sion in Trollhättan?

• When are all the final properties (equipment, car and battery prices, etc.) determined?

• When do the test drives / sightseeing tours tend to come?

• Are you still planning an IPO? Where should the rest of the required chapter currently come from?

• How many months before delivery / collection do the contracts come? When does full payment have to be made?

• Bafa funding in 2023?

• Could Sono consider giving the buyer different tires (for an additional charge) from the factory?

Technology

• Bidirectionality - does it work with home storage and solar if you already have something?

• The new solar integration looks great, is it Photoshop or has it really improved that much in the last three months? Can you take a photo like it looks in real life without a filter.

• Retrieving the diagnostic data - is there anything from the Sono Digital Team (API)?

• Question to Sebastian: which wallbox should I buy today to take the funding with me?

• 35 kWh battery is not enough!

• More charging power, 100 kW would be ideal

• Is there a reversing camera or has a definite decision already been made?

• Is there any news about the bidirectional charger / wallbox such as price, availability, funding opportunities

• Can the trailer hitch be the only extra that can be ordered and delivered from the start? Is this pre-assembled or can it be ordered as an extra?

• How secure is the radio central locking system?

• Can you recommend a suitable (solar permeable) carport or perhaps one that opens upwards? - probably more of a question for Sebastian

• If I want to use the Sion as a "craftsman's car", what do I need to be able to tap the 11kW three-phase current? For example, to weld a defective bridge railing in the middle of nowhere or to pump out a shaft with a powerful submersible pump (three-phase current)?

• What happens if you connect a PV system to the Sion output? E.g. you connect your house during the blackout and there is a PV system (<10kW) mounted on the roof and the Sion's battery is not full.

• Is the solar yield visualized "live" during the test drives?

• According to the homepage, the cells have 185 Wh, but the standard today is already 260 Wh. What about the solid-state battery?

• Is it planned to deliver the Sono with a charging cable (Schuko) or will that be left to the buyer? A standard charging cable with a fixed output would be a waste of resources and money, as it would go straight to my closet. I absolutely need a cable that allows me to freely choose the power of 6-16 A. I would therefore prefer a small discount and no charging cable, as one with which I can't start.

• Will there be several levels of recuperation? Sailing, for example, is said to save the most energy on the motorway.

• Are there problems with the loading flap open in the pouring rain (water in the car, risk of short circuit ...)

• Is a pull-out charging cable conceivable? Then you wouldn't need to stow it anywhere and could possibly save yourself a frunk (for that)? Would be a great USP.

• Will there be a speed limiter in addition to the cruise control?

• In the Sono Update production start and development progress event on March 15th, 21st from 4pm to 5pm, it was said that there would be both, speed limiter and cruise control

• How fast could the SION go if it doesn't lock?

• Will there be different driving modes?

Interior / exterior

• The trunk lid! Can you show that again in detail, does one hit your head there? Can you adjust the hydraulics?

• The rear window wiper looks strangely strange in the middle of the solar cells, why not do it from above?

• What kind of compartment is that under the trunk? How large?

• Darkened windows? What% do the disks have from the factory?
