The test drives are getting closer. Last week Sono had a rehearsal event with the press at the Zenith site in Munich. The solar panels are all connected, and you can see the energy that is currently being generated, and the energy that finally arrives in the battery. Three community members were also allowed to take part at the event and see the current state of development on site.

Live on TV: today, Sunday , June 13th, at 5:00 p.m.: VOX car magazine "auto mobil" has researched and reported on the Sion and Sono Motors: “A self-charging car sounds like every e-car owner's dream. Can this come true in the future? ”. 

The editorial team has researched intensively, the should expect more than the typical 3 minutes “what is a solar car”.

+++ UNDERWHELMED +++

The Sono screenshots from solar generation are making the rounds. 430 W combined solar generation can be seen. Pedro Lima from “PushEV” finds this “underwhelming”, but does admit that it's more than the competition can deliver. As expected, the roof contributes the lion's share. 

Pedro Lima also admits in the comments that he reads one thing out of the number: solar in e-cars is the right approach.

The discussion about peak performance has of course not gone unnoticed by Sono. On June 9th, a new “peak value” was posted: 545W, that's 3.6 km / hour - 15 km in four hours.

A new job: “As a project engineer for interior comfort, you are largely responsible for managing all HVAC issues with our development partners”.

“The development of our first production vehicle - the Sion - is entering the crucial phase. After the concept development has largely been completed, the focus shifts more and more to the details ”. The Sono fan group admin “Asti” wonders abuout the interesting corner at the Sion door. The side window is smaller than the door, so when you open the door, you can rest your hand on the door next to the window. Are there any other cars like this? If not, no problem. Cars need small special things.
