#33 (EN): Commissioning, Survey, Elvis

Happy Sunday.  Today we have many small updates, enjoy column 33/2022!

+++ COMMISSIONING +++

Seven (!) series validation SVC3 vehicles are being built in parallel at Bertrandt right now. Numbers 1-11 go to the developers for fine-tuning and testing - two of them are reserved for test drives. Numbers 12-16 are being driven to the wall. Before the Sions can be used, commissioning takes place. Test engineer Alessandro and his team are responsible for "commissioning", the controlled start-up.

A new "Tech Video" with Allessandro and the seven bodies in the background is now online.

At this point I have to say thank you. This mini-tech series was created to transparently show where the Sion is on its way to production. The new video was recorded on Wednesday, this Friday it went online. There is no more transparent and direct way to show the status.

But what also comes across in the series is how important engineers, skilled workers and a motivated team are. Alessandro from the video loves his job, just as I love mine as an e-technician. Yet almost no one knows that these jobs even exist - and how interesting they are. The videos are also an appreciation to the team.

There was one misunderstanding - in the video it is mentioned that the Sions SVC3.1 to SVC3.11 are handed over by Bertrandt to the first "customers" after commissioning. Meant are the departments at Sono, the internal customers who do their tests with the prototypes - no end customers.

But enough praise now, back to work: putting the car into operation - we want test drives. Here is the link to the video "Commissioning - Part l":

+++ FINN DREAMS +++

Sono has a new offer for those who need a car and can't wait until the start of production. Up to 500 € discount when booking through Sono (offer seams somehow limited to Germany at the moment):

+++ BIDI SURVEY +++

Besides solar, bidirectional charging is one of the core features of the Sion. We have many "experts" in the community - and the closer the Sion gets, the more concrete it becomes. From the community, we want to design a kind of "model solution" for integrating the Sion and the Wallbox at home. But to do that, we need to know - what's actually there? What do you already have?

For this purpose, we have - finally again - created a survey and ask for active participation so that we have fodder for the sample solution. The more people participate, the more aspects we can consider for the sample solution. If a question is too technical, just skip it, there is no right or wrong.

+++ CELEBRATE THE CELEBRATE +++

Sono posted a video of the set up and tear down from the "Celebrate the Sun" event. A "celebrate the celebrate" video with a few o-tones from some of the staff and reservists. If you weren't there you can catch some glimpses behind the scenes.

Friends of the typed words can also find a short gleanings on the homepage.

The chapter "world premiere" is communicatively closed now.

+++ ADVERTISING +++

Wednesday we received an email from Sono asking if we could mention in the next column #33 that Sono will be represented at the IAA TRANSPORTATION 2022 with the B2B Solar Business. We are happy to do so, of course.

Of course, this is nothing new here - because we already reported on it last week and were amused by the booth number "C-02" (CO2). Dropbox never gets tired, Dropbox never falls asleep, Dropbox is always a little bit faster :-)

+++ SEEDRS ++++

Many Seedrs investors are struggling with the fees if you want to transfer the shares to your own securities account. At the moment there is a very active search for solutions, if you participated at that time, you can have a look.

+++ THE AUTOTESTER +++

A calm and factual summary of the state of affairs with many press pictures is available from Friedbert on the Youtube channel of "Dem Autotester" - with a positive outlook.

+++ FUN FACT +++

Sono is polarizing, although a lot has already happened in the last months. Sono still needs to raise money to start production at Valmet next year. Elvis Presley had a similar theme, he also polarized and needed money - and his manager had a glorious idea: He sold pins with "I hate Elvis" and "I love Elvis" - and made over 22 million dollars with it already in 1957. Sono doesn't like merchandise, because it just flies around - even the black Sono shirts are only available for employees. That's why there won't be any badges, but there are plenty of ideas. And 22 million dollars from 1957 would be 208 million today, so you can buy a lot of machines in Uusikaupunki.

Have a nice week, stay healthy.
