2021! I think many are happy that 2020 is finally over. Align the crown, shake off the dust from the ermine, charge the battery, and continue. There's not much to report at the start of the year. After all, it's the holiday season. CES 2021 is just around the corner when the new prototype will officially be unveiled:

A countdown to the "digital CES" is currently welcoming us on the Sono homepage. The countdown aims at the start of the CES, not necessarily the exact moment when the unveiling of the new prototype will take place. Sono does not appear in the list of keynote speakers, but the Sono logo can be found in the CES exhibitor list.

Two slots booked by Sono Motors can be found buried deep down on the website in the tech sessions - the first on Tuesday might be an option:

Registration for the "Digital CES" costs 149 euros, starting tomorrow the price is rising to 499 euros. The price tag will somewhat limit the number of live viewers. The main target group is likely to be the international press. Whatever will be shown, we will probably find out a few hours later.

Audi USA also has a spotlight session on Tuesday, January 12th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.:
"The Electrifying Future of Premium Mobility". Let's hope that the press will change the channel at 7:45 p.m. for the Sono show.

One of the Sion's unique selling points is the agricultural hook, which is still rare in electric cars in this price range and vehicle size. Unfortunately, caravans and small batteries are opposing goals. The Dutch are world champions (no, not in soccer!) in caravans and e-mobility, and this is where interesting solutions are being created: economical folding caravans, especially for e-cars. The "Take Off" is a candidate that fits exactly to the Sion specifications: 550 kilos empty weight allows for 200 kilos payload, no extra mirror necessary, a small mobile toilet, refrigerator, a small camping kitchen. From mid-2021, the little seashell will come with a lightweight solar system, battery storage, and induction cooking.
